Chapter 3 Switch Installation 

DGS-8000 Series Hardware Installation Guide

  Remove any obstacle in the frame and the surrounding environment. 

  Prepare the equipment and move it to the place near the cabinet where you can handle 

it easily. 

3.4.2  

  Simple Installation Steps 

1.    Levelly lift the DGS-8000 by two people on both sides, and slowly move it to the front of 

the cabinet.   

2.    Levelly lift the DGS-8000 to a position slightly higher than the tray or the slide rail of the 

cabinet, put the equipment onto the tray or the slide rail, and push it into the cabinet.   

3.   Fasten the DGS-8000 onto the cabinet with screws. There are fastening notches on 

both the sides of the front panel on the equipment frame. Use screws to fasten them to 
the fastening bracket of the cabinet. After fastened, the equipment should be stable and 
still in the cabinet. 

3.5 

  Installing and Removing Fan 

Tray 

The DGS-8000 provides a ventilation system: 8006-FAN for DGS-8006, 8010-FAN for 
DGS-8010. Install the fan tray according to the following steps: 

Steps for installing 8006-FAN fan tray: 

1.    Install the fan tray into the fan slot in the backpanel of DGS-8006. Note the direction 

identifier of the fan tray’s name to ensure the correct direction. 

2.    Tighten the captive screws on the fan tray with a screwdriver. 

 

Steps for installing 8010-FAN fan tray: 

1.    Install the fan tray into the DGS-8010 along the guide rail in the front panel. Note the 

direction identifier of the fan tray’s name to ensure the correct direction. 

2.    Slide the fan tray into position gently with both hands. 

 

Steps for removing the 8006-FAN fan tray: 

1.    Loosen the captive screws on the fan tray with a screwdriver. 

2.    Grasp the two handles on the fan tray and gently remove the fan tray. 

 

Steps for removing the 8010-FAN fan tray: 

Press the “Push” location of the two handles with both hands to unfold the handles, and 
grasp the unfolded handles to pull the fan tray out. 

 

Note 

Do not remove the 8010-FAN fan tray forcibly, use the fan handle. Otherwise, 
component damage may occur, which causes deformation of the fan tray, and 
the fan tray cannot be removed.
