This screen describes the 5 types of configuration in E&M (Earth and Magneto, or Ear and Mouth).  

On a side we have a voltage -48 Volts or not 0V, on the other side we have a current detector. 

 

Actual type between Exchange- Side A, PBX , and a Carrier Side B. 

 

 

The PBX side A must be connected with a CIP-EM in side B mode. 

The Telco side B must be connected with a CIP-EM in side A mode.
