TRUSCULPT OPERATOR MANUAL
D1395, REV. K, 02/18
Treatment Information
For treatment-specific guidelines, refer to the truSculpt Treatment Guidelines accompanying this
operator manual. These guidelines can also be obtained from your local Cutera representative or on the
Cutera website.
Patient Information
Prior to treatment, conduct a patient consultation. The consultation should include a complete medical
history and exam, paying close attention to potential contraindications. At that time, you should also
discuss all potential benefits, complications, options, and risks of treatment.
CAUTION
Do not consecutively treat the same area of skin. Allow for one full
pass on the area to be treated before returning to a previously
treated area. When moving the handpiece to the next area to be
treated allow no more than 20–50% overlap from the previous
location.
CAUTION
Anesthetics should not be used with truSculpt procedures. Patient
feedback is necessary to determine optimal treatment levels
CAUTION
Frequently ask how the patient is tolerating the treatment, as some
patients will hesitate to offer feedback. The patient should feel a
uniform heat sensation during treatment. Treatment should be
uncomfortable but not unbearable. If the patient is experiencing
pain, pause treatment and observe the patient's skin for any signs of
epidermal damage (e.g., skin that turns white/grey, edematous,
blanches, etc.). If any epidermal damage is observed, stop
treatment and contact Cutera Service. If no epidermal damage is
observed, ensure that the skin is dry before resuming treatment.
