Error Code Guide
The truSculpt system utilizes state-of-the-art, self-diagnostic software. When the system detects an
abnormality during self-test or while the system is in READY mode, a pop-up screen will appear with a
corresponding error code(s). Some errors serve as a warning and are clearable by simply pressing the
button in the pop-up screen. Others, such as “water low”, are accompanied by an animated illustration
showing what action to take. If the error or abnormal condition is successfully cleared, the pop-up screen
can be cleared by pressing the button.
Below is a brief explanation of some of the codes that may be seen in the advisory pop-up screen. If you
have any questions about this information or the operation and service of your system, contact Cutera
Service.
If any error codes or symptoms occur that are not addressed in the above table or the Troubleshooting
Guide section, or if the suggested solutions do not resolve the problem, contact Cutera Service.

If an error cannot be cleared, or if an error persists or reappears,

100 Handpiece was lifted from skin
while treatment was in progress. Ensure that handpiece is in uniform contact with
skin.
221 System overheated. Turn off system and allow for 10 minute cooling
period before restarting.
261 Handpiece on/off button was
pressed while attempting to place
system in READY mode. Ensure that handpiece on/off button is not pressed
before touching READY button on RF Handpiece
Control screen.
322 System is low on water. Add water, as instructed in Introduction chapter.

Tissue parameters outside of
treatment range. Try repositioning handpiece.
990 Return pad has poor contact with
patient. Lightly massage the entire surface of the return pad
to ensure complete contact, with no creases or
bubbles. If the error persists, replace with a new
pad. Do not relocate the pad after initial application.
