Performing an RF Treatment Session
Pretreatment Setup
1.
Prior to each use, inspect the truSculpt system components and cables for dirt, debris, or
damage.
2.
Ensure that the RF handpiece, neutral electrode cable, and main power cable are properly
connected.
3.
Ensure that the cooling reservoir is filled.
4.
Set the main power circuit breaker to the ON position.
5.
Turn the key to the START position, hold for one second, and then release.
6. Allow the system to perform the self-test.
Patient Preparation
Before starting RF treatment:
1.
Instruct the patient to remove jewelry, including body piercings, near the treatment area.
2.
Ensure that the patient’s skin at the treatment site and return pad site is clean of make-up
and lotions and that there are no objects (e.g., band-aids) covering the areas.
3.
Select a return pad site that is at least 10 inches from the surgical site. The return pad site
should be well-vascularized, muscular, and convex.
4.
Examine the patient for hair at the treatment site and the return pad site, and shave the
skin if necessary. Remove any excess moisture from the return pad site. The RF electrode
and return pad must have full contact with the skin.
CAUTION
The RF electrode is covered with proprietary film. Inspect the
film to ensure that there are no scratches, imperfections, or
defects. Do not use the handpiece or attempt to replace the
film if there are any scratches, imperfections, or defects on the
electrode. Contact Cutera Service.
