USING THE OMNI2 WITH TWO SIDS AND IN CONJUNCTION WITH A JOYSTICK MODULE
Refer to the Profiles and Modes Explained, Input Devices Explained and Configuration Explained sections in the R-net PC
Programmer help text or in the R-net Technical Manual SK77981 – Programming chapter.
This is essentially a combination of the previous two examples.
There are five programming steps to follow:
1.
Decide which Profiles are to be associated with the JSM and which Profiles are to be associated with the Omni2, and
set the parameter Input Device Type accordingly.
2.
Decide which Profiles are to be associated with each SID and into which Port each SID will connect, then set the
parameter Port accordingly.
3.
Set the parameter Profile Enable to enable only the required Profiles.
4.
Ensure the parameter Mode Enable is set to enable the required Modes for the JSM and both SIDs.
5.
Decide upon appropriate names for each of the Profiles and set the parameter Profile Name accordingly.
Example:
It is required that a standard JSM controls Profiles 1 and 2, and that the Omni2 controls Profiles 3 to 6. Of the Omni2 Profiles,
3 and 4 will be controlled by SID 1 connected to Port 1, while Profiles 5 and 6 will be controlled by SID 2 connected to Port 2.
All Modes can be controlled by the JSM and each of the SIDs. Profiles are to be named JSM Slow, JSM Fast, SID1 Slow, SID1
Fast, SID2 Slow and SID2 Fast.
1.
Set the Input Device Type parameter for each of the relevant Profiles.
2.
Assign the SID 1 Profiles to Port 1 and the SID 2 Profiles to Port 2.
3.
Disable Profile 7, as it is not required. There is no need to disable Profile 8, as it is reserved for use by an Attendant-
Type device.
4.
Enable all Modes in the first Profile for each SID.
5.
Set the Profile names.
The Omni2 should now be programmed to suit the user and the SID, as explained in the previous chapter.
5
USING THE OMNI2 BY SOUND
It is possible to set-up the Omni2 so that it issues audible beeps, in order to allow the user to know where they are in the User
Menu or Sequence. This is particularly useful for users who cannot easily read the Omni2’s screen.
The following parameters set how and when the beeps occur. For further details of each of these parameters, refer to the
previous chapter.
