CHAPTER 10 – NOTES, CAUTIONS AND WARNINGS SUMMARY
1 INTRODUCTION
This section summarises all of the very important notes, cautions and warnings that appear throughout the text of this manual.
Do not install, maintain or operate the Omni2 controller without reading, understanding and observing the following notes,
cautions and warnings. Failure to observe these points could result in UNSAFE CONDITIONS for the user of a powerchair or
affect the reliability of the Omni2 controller.

NOTE
The powerchair manufacturer may wish to use this section as a check list, to ensure that the risk areas identified below have
been addressed within their own chair designs and associated documentation.
2 NOTES
2.1 INTRODUCTION

It is possible to set-up a control system so that it is unsuitable for some users or even some vehicles. For all of the above
reasons it is important that you contact Curtiss-Wright if you have the slightest doubts or if you need any advice on
programming.
2.2 INSTALLING THE OMNI2 ONTO A POWERCHAIR

Due to its exposed position, Curtiss-Wright strongly recommends that the Omni2 Display Section is fitted to a flexible
mounting system, e.g. a ‘gooseneck’ arrangement. This will help to mitigate damage caused by inadvertent ‘knocks’.
2.3 GENERAL CARE
NOTE (OP, HP, IN)
When cleaning the control system, use a damp, non-abrasive cloth and washing-up liquid mixed with water. Do not use
abrasive or spirit-based cleaning agents.
2.4 SIP AND PUFF CALIBRATION
NOTE (HP, IN)
All values must be greater than the Deadband setting, for calibration to be performed successfully.
