The
Program Settings
dialog (

) provides setting options which become effective
when a new configuration file is created. As to
Default document type
, the following options are
available.

dialog is used.
CAN only (*.DBC)
: File type *.DBC is automatically selected for creating a new configuration file.
XCP-Gateway (*.A2L)
: File type *.A2L is automatically selected for creating a new configuration file.

5.2.2 Offline configuration
An offline configuration serves the purpose to summarize configuration-specific for saving it in an A2L
file, to transfer this file to a measurement module or to make it available for use in another configuration
tool like e.g. CANape or INCA at a later time.
NOTICE!
The following sections describe the steps for a configuration in offline mode.
See chapter 5.2.4 “Configuring measurement channels” and chapter 5.2.5 “Configuring
the device” for channel and module configuration, respectively.
Start up xx-Scan Config.
The xx-Scan program window opens.
Click on
File | New
(
Ctrl
+
N
).
The
Select document type
dialog opens.

Select the option

for A2L file configurations and confirm by clicking on
OK
.
