. The host header attributes are based on the contents of the
Host
header—for example, the value of the host attribute for this request would be
www.somesite.com
, and the value of the host header suffix attribute would be
somesite
.com.
Match expressions can be combined using Boolean AND, OR, and NOT operators to form
more complex rules.
Defining a Match Rule
By default, all clusters have a single match rule that matches ANY and matches all servers.
To add a match rule to an HTTP or HTTPS virtual cluster:
1.
Log into the Equalizer Administration interface with edit access.
2.
In the left frame, click the name of the cluster to which you want to add the rule.
3.
Select Add Match Rule from the local menu in the Cluster Parameters frame. The
Create New Match Rule dialog is displayed in the right frame.

4.
Enter a name for the new rule in the Match Name field.
5.
Select the request content that you want to base the rule on from the Request
Attribute
list:
■
Host header—the name of the host to which the request was sent. For example,
“www.somesite.com”. (The value of the host attribute corresponds to the
contents of the
Host
header in the request.)
■
Host header suffix—the suffix of the host to which the request was sent. For
example, “somesite.com”. (The value of the host header suffix is extracted from
the contents of the
Host
header in the request.)
■
Path name—the complete path specified the request URI—the directory name
and the file name. For example,”
/somedir/somepage.html
”.
■
Path name prefix—the prefix of the path specified in the request URI. For
example, “/”.
