Equalizer Installation and Administration Guide
cookie_domain
This provides the string value for the “Domain” cookie parameter, which, if specified,
restricts the cookie to being presented by the client browser to only those servers whose
host name is within the indicated domain.
cookie_path
This provides the string value for the “Path” cookie parameter, which, if specified, restricts
the cookie to being presented only when the path component of the URL has a prefix in
common with the specified path.
cookie_flags
Various flags can be set to modify the way the cookie persistence is performed.
■
none—Clear all cookie flags.
■
always—Always perform cookie stuffing into the response, regardless of whether it
was observed that the server is setting a cookie.
■
cookie2—Use the “Set-Cookie2” HTTP header, rather than “Set-Cookie”. Currently,
this is not supported.
■
always2—Always perform stuff using “Set-Cookie2”. Currently, this is not supported.
Server-Specific Parameters
The following parameters can appear within a server block. Currently, no protocols define
protocol-specific server flags.
port
This is the TCP or UDP port number associated with the server. The default value of this
may be provided by the protocol, such as port 80 in the case of HTTP.
ip
This is the IP address of the server. It must be provided using a quoted string syntax. Valid
values include host names or dotted quad IP address, such as “192.168.3.4”.
weight
This is the relative weight of this server to be used in load balancing. Higher weights
imply more capacity to perform work.
flags
The following flags are valid for servers in all clusters (independent of the protocol).
■
hot_spare—This server is a hot spare. Normally, no traffic is directed to this server,
but if all other servers are marked down, this one will be used.
■
quiesce—When this flag is set, the server will not receive any new traffic. Persistent
sessions which have selected this server will continue to use it, so long as it remains
up.
