Hardware Manual — How to Build Your Own Crossover Cable

Verifying the IP Address on your PC

To verify the IP Address on you PC, click on the Windows Start button, then click on
Run. The Run dialog box appears.

Type in the name winipcfg and click OK. The IP Configuration dialog box appears.

Select the Ether Adapter card from the pull-down button (in this case, it’s a PCMCIA
Ethernet Adapter card, yours may be called something else). Check that the IP Address
and Subnet Mask are correct. If the addresses are not correct, you will not be able to
connect to the RTU. You may go through the procedure again on setting your IP Address
on the PC. If the Addresses still aren’t set correctly on your PC, call someone within
your company that can help you to set up your PC.
