8. Inserting Batteries, Replacing Batteries

• Open the battery compartment by unscrewing the four screws on the back.
• Insert two "Micro/AAA" batteries, in the correct polarity (o/Plus and -/Minus).
• Place the battery compartment cover back on and reattach the screws.
• The batteries need to be changed when the battery symbol begins to flash in the display, the

display contrast becomes very weak or when the display disappears when the background
lighting or torch are activated, or if the device can no longer be switched on.
Switch the device off while changing the batteries. If you exchange batteries one after
another and the change is completed within 20 seconds, then the data (e.g. telephone book)
will be retained. Otherwise all saved data will be lost!

9. Presettings

The following factory settings are present as soon as batteries are inserted:
• Real time clock: "12:00", 24h mode
• Date: 01-01-2006 (day, month, year)
• Alarm Function: Off
• World time clock: London (time zone: GMT + 0 hours)
• Password protection: Off
• Button confirmation tone: On
• Temperature unit: °C (degrees Celsius)
• Barometric pressure unit: hPa
• Barometric pressure at sea level: 1013.25 hPa
• Altitude unit: Metres
• Mosquito repeller: Off
• Menu language: English
