3.1
General Maintenance Information
This section contains information for ordinary upkeep of the CONMED ClearView™ Smoke
Evacuation System. While the system has been designed and manufactured to high industry
standards, it is recommended that periodic inspection and performance testing be performed by
a qualified Biomedical Technician to ensure continued safe and effective operation.
3.2 Cleaning
Unplug Unit. Wipe unit with a damp cloth containing mild disinfectant solution or soapy water.
Wipe dry with a clean cloth. Do not steam sterilize.
3.3
Periodic Inspection
The ClearView™ Smoke Evacuation System should be visually inspected at least every year. This
inspection should include checks for:
• Damage to the power cord.
• Damage to the power plug or power inlet module.
• Proper mating, cleanliness and absence of damage to the filter inlet.
• Obvious external or internal damage to the system.

1. Re-install Filter, press firmly into place and fully
engage clip.
2. Replace filter with a genuine CONMED Filter.
3. Replace vacuum hose or tube with genuine
CONMED products.
4. Call BioMed or CONMED Customer
