GENERAL
3.1
APPLICATION
The control sensor is used in drinking water systems to monitor the water consumption and shut-off the
drinking water pipe if set limits are exceeded. It was developed for use in single family dwellings, to protect
against the effects of water pipe breakages, leaks and defects in the domestic water installation in addition
to preventing exceptional water consumption. The control sensor detects running taps and valves.
Information about usage limitations is contained in chapter 4.1 “INTENDED USE”.

3.3
APPROVAL MARKS
The control sensor complies with the technical regulations for drinking water installation according to
DIN
EN
806
ff. and the national supplement DIN 1988 ff. as well as DIN EN 1717. It has been tested and
approved by the DVGW (German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water) according to the
requirements of the
test
regulation
VP 638 (“Leak detectors for installation in drinking water systems”)
and can thus carry the DVGW marking.
This control sensor has been developed for use in cold mains drinking water (up to
30 °C / 86 °F). Prior to installation in media other than water or in water contain-
ing additives, the manufacturer must be consulted.
