• When disconnecting the unit from the wall outlet, never pull the power cord; hold the plug instead.
• Do not immerse the power cord, plug, or appliance in water or any other liquid.
• Regularly check the appliance as well as the power cord and gas feed hose for damage and deterioration.
Never switch on a damaged appliance.
• Make sure that all controls are in the OFF position when the appliance is not in use.
• Do not use surface damaged, worn or defective pots.
• Use manufacturer-recommended accessories only.
Children in the household
• The appliance is not intended for and should not be accessible to children or persons with reduced
capabilities.
• The appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack
of knowledge, unless given supervision by an acquainted person responsible for their safety.
• Pay the utmost attention when using the unit close to children.
• Do not use the appliance as a toy.
Cooking
• Never place a pot directly on the burner; always place it over the grate!
• Always position pots centered on the burners to avoid tipping.
• Food such as soups, sauces or drinks may heat up and spill unintentionally. Proceed carefully, use the
appropriate settings and stir the food as often as necessary.

Keep the appliance clean. Spillovers and grease spills may ignite and cause a fire.
• Hot oil or fat is capable of rapid ignition. There is a hazard of fire!
• Never leave hot oil or grease unattended!
• Never extinguish flaming oil with water. Use a close-fitting lid or a plate to cover a pot. Turn off the appliance
and allow the pot to cool.
Hot grates
• Do not touch the hot grates. You may be burned!
• The grates remain hot for a certain period after cooking is completed. Do not allow children to get close to the
appliance. They may be burned!
• Never lay flammable objects on the appliance. There is a risk of fire!
• Electrical cables of other appliances must not come into contact with the grates and heat zones. Heat may
erode the cabling insulation or damage the appliance.
Rifts of the ceramic base
• Any rift, rupture or crack of the base represent a risk of electric shock.
• Turn off the appliance off-hand. Disconnect the unit from the power supply.
• Contact an authorized service body.
Pot and pan bottoms
• Do not use pots with bulging or irregular bottoms or small pots on larger burners (Fig. 1). The cooking
performance will be impaired.
