portLoopbackTest

Figure 4-6 shows the 

portLoopbackTest

 command, which verifies the intended

functional operation of the switch by sending frames from each port’s
transmitter back to the same port’s receiver through an internal hardware
loopback. This command tests the switch circuitry up to the serial output of the
ASIC. The command syntax is 

portLoopbackTest nFrames.

IMPORTANT:

  This test cannot be executed on an operational switch. Before issuing the

portLoopbackTest command, disable the switch using the switchDisable

 

command.

If you do not include the 

nFrames

 parameter, the loopback test runs

continuously until you press Enter.
