DS900 Series Sensor Accuracy
l
Measurement accuracy varies depending on how accurately the unit is mounted and on the surface
characteristics of the object being measured; it is not possible to specify a guaranteed accuracy value.
l
In general, sensor accuracy is improved when:
l
Relative measurements are made within a single scene (what is the difference between surface A and
surface B) are more accurate than absolute measurements (how far is surface B from the sensor).
l
The sensor is rigidly mounted using the high-accuracy mounting hole.
l
The sensor is precisely perpendicular to the surface being measured.
l
In general, sensor accuracy is the best at the optical axis.
l
In general, sensor range measurements are extremely repeatable, however the accuracy is dependent on how
well the exposure is set.
