Baseboards, Retaining Boards, and Ribbon Boards

BASEBOARD AND RETAINING BOARDS

A customer-supplied baseboard and retaining board 

are required

 to attach the drop-down side panels. 

Recommended baseboard dimensions are 2" x 6". 

Recommended retaining board dimensions are 1" x 4". 

Use treated lumber for best results.

The baseboard runs the length of the frame at ground 

level. The retaining board secures the drop-down panel 

to the baseboard. 

The baseboard and retaining board are 

supplied by the customer. These are not included. 

 

Retaining boards are attached during the drop-down 

panel installation shown later in this guide.

Fasteners to secure baseboards to the rafters are not 

included. For best results, use exterior grade fasteners.

Use the FA4652 wood grip screws to secure the retaining 

board to the baseboard. Space screws at 24" on-center. 

 

Contact your sales representative to purchase fasteners, 

or purchase locally when lumber is purchased.

A customer-supplied two-piece ribbon board is required 

for the installation of the drop-down panels. Consult the

Customer supplies the materials for the ribbon board 

and fasteners to secure ribbon board to the frame.

Recommended ribbon board dimensions are shown 

below. Use treated lumber for best results.
