Use
Preparing the room
CAUTION!
❐
If you are using the appliance in a room for the
fi
rst time, observe it in case you have to
remove any obstacles so that the appliance can effectively clean the entire room.
❐
The appliance is not suitable plush or shag carpeting.
• Remove any objects from the
fl
oor that can get caught in the brushes or nozzle or pre-
vent the appliance from cleaning. In particular, do not leave plastic bags on the
fl
oor.
• Make sure that no cables, cords, or fringes, for example,
from curtains, tablecloths, or rugs are accessible to the ap-
pliance. If necessary, fold the fringed edges of rugs under the
rug.
• Remove all objects that can be tipped over (e.g. vases, small
lamps, decorations).
• The distance between two objects (e.g., wall and a piece of furniture) must amount to 40
cm so that the appliance can get through.
• The appliance can get stuck under furniture, which it can just about get under. Block its
path, for example, with
fl
ower pots that are heavy enough not to get knocked over.
Operating the appliance
CAUTION!

If something gets caught in the roller brush or nozzle during cleaning and obstructs the
appliance, a signal sounds. Switch off the appliance immediately using the
POWER
or
OFF
button and remove the obstacle.
1. Make sure that the dust container is empty and the appliance is clean (see the "Cleaning
and Maintenance" section).
2. Place the appliance in the middle of the room to be cleaned.
3. Press the
POWER
button on the appliance to switch it on.
4. Pick up the remote control. By pressing the
ZEIT
button, set the cleaning duration
in 10-minute stages (up to a maximum of 80 minutes). The cleaning duration is shown
on the display of the appliance. In 30 minutes, the appliance cleans about 15 m
2
. The
required cleaning duration, however, depends on the respective
fl
oor.
5. Press the
START
button. After a brief period of time, the appliance starts and cleans
the
fl
oor using
fi
ve cleaning patterns that repeat automatically so that the entire
fl
oor is
cleaned ef
fi
ciently:
– Through the room to guarantee complete room coverage
– Spiral movements to clean a certain area thoroughly
– Along walls to clean the entire perimeter of the room
– An S pattern
– A polygon spiral.
