8. MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING

What we do recommend for all Portaspec owners is a spare computer with the
Portaspec control program installed.  As we all know, hard drive failure is inevitable.
Therefore, we recommend that upon receiving the Portaspec, copy the entire
”Portaspec Analysis and Control” directory to another computer.  Once there, run
the setup program and install the software as a backup.  Additionally, backup all
calibration, process and data files on a regular basis.
