Earth ground post
4. Disconnect any cords from the LPS (see A and B in the diagram).
5. For lamp power supplies with a pluggable type cord, unplug it from its three-phase power
source. You do not need to disconnect the cable from the LPS; only from the power source.
6. Place the LPS on an insulated surface to prevent a shock hazard.
7. Turn all circuit breakers to the on position (see diagram below).
Circuit breaker A is not on all LPS models.
8. Complete a ground continuity test.
9. Complete a dielectric strength test.
Testing ground continuity
Complete a ground continuity test to verify a continuous conductive path exists for current to flow in
the event of a fault.
1. Attach one test lead into the lamp power supply (LPS) each ground post.
2. Attach the second test lead into an LPS AC convenience outlet ground terminal.
3. Verify the ground integrity.
4. For the second AC convenience outlet, repeat steps 2 and 3.
5. If a pluggable three-phase cord is used on the LPS, complete the following:
a) Attach one test lead to the LPS earth ground post.
b) Attach the second test lead to the LPS three-phase plug ground terminal.
c) Verify the ground integrity.
6. Remove the test equipment.
