AUXILIARY LAMPS (ALL WEATHER)
A uxiliary a ll w eather lam p s, available a s op
tional equipment on som e v e h ic le s, are u sed to
provide in crea sed illum ination. The lam ps, which
a re mounted at low er front of v eh icle a re con
tro lled by a toggle-typ e sw itch mounted on the
light sw itch and heater control panel. R efer to
"Light Bulb Data" at end of th is sectio n for se a le d -
beam unit type and trade num ber.
PARKING LIGHTS
Parking ligh ts (when used) a re an integral
part of the directional light a ssem b ly . The parking
ligh ts are illum inated when the main light sw itch
knob is pulled out to the fir s t detent position . The
parking light circu it is protected by an autom atic
r e s e t type circu it b reak er built into the main light
sw itch .
BULB REPLACEMENT
NOTE: R efer to "Light Bulb Data" at end of
th is sectio n for bulb s iz e and type.
R em ove sc r e w s which attach directional lamp
le n s to housing, then rem ove the le n s . P r e s s in
ward on bulb and turn counterclockw ise to r e le a s e
from so ck et. P r e s s new bulb into socket and turn
clock w ise to se c u r e . R eplace gasket if damaged,
then p osition len s on lam p housing and attach with
sc r e w s .
CAB FRONT MARKER AND
IDENTIFICATION LIGHTS
Front m arker and identification ligh ts are
mounted a c r o ss front top of cab. On conventional
cab and S e r ie s 70 through 90 tilt cab m od els, the
light c irc u it is e n e rg ized by a separate m arker
lamp sw itch fed from the m ain light sw itch when
light sw itch is in "ON" p osition. On S e r ie s 90
tilt cab m od els, the light circu it is en ergized by a
sep arate m arker lamp sw itch fed from the 20-am p
No. 5 circu it breaker in the con sole com partm ent.
B ulbs are a c c e s s ib le for replacem ent after
rem oving sc r e w s which attach lamp len s to hous
ing, then rem oving the le n s.

DIRECTIONAL AND HAZARD
WARNING LIGHTS
Information applicable to "D irectional Signal
Lights" and the "Hazard Warning System " rem ains
the sa m e a s covered under "Lighting System "
p ages 12-29 and 1 2 -3 0 in CHASSIS ELECTRICAL
AND INSTRUMENTS (SEC. 12) in S ervice Manual
ST 135-70 excep t as follow s:
NOTE: When checking e le c tr ic a l c ir c u its, r e
fe r to applicable wiring diagram in "Wiring D ia
gram s" in (SEC. 12) of S erv ice Manual ST 135-70
for w iring arrangem ent.
On S e r ie s H C /H H /JC /JH 90 and S e r ie s 90
tilt cab m od els, an arrow at either sid e of the t e ll
ta le clu ster fla sh es when the le ft or right sign al
light is illum inated. When turn is com pleted, the
sw itch m ust be returned to the neutral "OFF"
p osition to can cel the ligh ts.
On S e r ie s H C /H H /JC /JH 90 and S e r ie s 90
tilt cab m od els, the hazard warning sw itch le v e r
is located on the directional signal sw itch housing
below the turn sign al le v e r . Pull hazard warning
sw itch le v e r out to activate the sy ste m . To cancel
o r "turn-off" the lig h ts, m ove directional signal
sw itch le v e r up or down. The hazard warning s ig
nal le v e r is sp rin g-load ed and w ill cancel the
hazard warning ligh ts when r e le a se d by m ovement
of the d irection al sig n a l sw itch le v e r .
If sw itch b ecom es inoperative, check for a
blown fu se, d efective circu it b reaker, or a weak
fla sh e r . If th is fa ils to co r r e ct the condition, r e
p lace the hazard warning or directional sign al
sw itch.
