A ll inform ation in S e rv ice Manual ST 135-70 and ST 332-71 pertaining to

"GASOLINE ENGINES" is applicable to m odels covered by this supplem ent with

the addition of the following:

STEEL TILT CA R (SERIES 70)

1. D isconnect pedal and throttle return sp rin gs,

then check front and rear cable clam ps for proper

tig h tn ess on a cc ele ra to r control cable a ssem b ly .

2. D isconnect rod end assem b ly ”B" from

th rottle le v e r . V erify that rod end assem b ly "B"

is threaded on the cable a ssem b ly ^-inch, then r e 

connect to throttle le v e r .

3. D ep ress a c c e le r a to r pedal to %-inch from

flo o r.

4. D isconnect rod end a ssem b ly "A" from

rela y le v e r .

5. Move throttle le v e r to full throttle (wide

open). Thread rod end assem b ly "A" on cable, su f
ficien tly , to provide fr e e -en try of rod end a s s e m

bly "A" into relay le v e r .

NOTE: If additional adjustm ent is required,

adjust p osition of rod end a ssem b ly "B” on cable

assem b ly , accordingly. Minimum allow able thread

engagem ent at either rod end assem b ly is M-inch.

6. R econnect pedal and throttle return sp rin gs.

7. Check operation of linkage to make su re

carburetor throttle le v e r is at full throttle before

a c c e le ra to r pedal reach es floor m at. R eadjust, if

n e c e ssa r y .
