System Setup

In the Setup Menu, use 

▲▼

 

to change the highlighted option to System, and then press Enter 

to call up System Setup menu. The System Setup menu allows the administrator to set the system 
time, time zone, time synchronization, language, etc. General operations of this menu are defined 
below.

Mouse: Left click) Use these buttons to select the desired menu or area.

• Esc:

 (Mouse: Right Click) Use this button to escape from the current screen, and return to the 

  previous menu. If the Save dialog is shown, press Enter to exit and save, or Esc (Mouse: Right 
  Click) to exit without saving.

• Time Zone: 

Use the +/- buttons to select the time zone for the DVR. 

• Daylight Saving Time:

 Press Enter or +/- to check/uncheck this option. 

• Synchronization: 

This option defines the whether or not the time is synchronized with a TSP 

  Server. Use +/- to change the value. By default, this setting is not checked. Local Server means 
  the DVR is used as the time server. 

• TSP Server:

 TSP (Time Synchronization Protocol) server name if Time Synchronization is set to 

  

The DVR will attempt synchronization with the specified TSP server at a preset interval. Follow the

  text input method on page 16 to specify a TSP server. 

• Date: 

This option defines the system date. Use the +/- buttons to define the system date.

• Time:

 This option defines the system time. Use the +/- buttons to define the system time. 

• Display Format: 

This option defines the format used for the system time as displayed on the 

  lower-left corner of the main screen (HDMI, BNC, and VGA outputs). Use the +/- buttons to select 
  the desired time format.

• Language:

 Use the +/- buttons to select the language desired for your system.  

• Protection Key: 

This defines the protection key used for remote access of the DVR. This 

  protection key is used for authentication when any remote device requests to connect to the DVR. 
  The same protection key must be entered to install the remote software if it is to be used to 
  access the DVR.
