7.12 Vehicle cleaning and storage

Vehicle cleaning
]
Motorcycle should be cleaned periodically to check damage, wear or leakage of the vehicle in time. When
cleaning, rinse with clean water. After cleaning, dry motorcycle and start the engine and allow it to run for
several minutes. Lubricate the drive chain with chain lubricant. Inspect the brakes before riding on the road
to ensure that the front and rear brakes normal.
1. Never use high-pressure water to wash the parts: ignition switch, electrical switches, instrument cluster,
electrical parts, battery, air filter, wheels, muffler outlet, tank bottom, etc.
2. The brake performance may be reduced after cleaning. Test ride the vehicle for inspection. The vehicle
can only be operated after it’s adjusted and in good conditions.

Vehicle storage
]
The motorcycle should be stored in a safe, dry, less temperature difference and ventilated area after daily
use. If it is a prolonged storage (over 30 days), repair the motorcycle when necessary before storage.
Otherwise, the defects may be forgotten after storage.
As for a prolonged storage (over 30 days), in addition to the above repair when necessary, the following
maintenance procedures are also required:
1. Wash and dry the motorcycle. Wax the vehicle body.
2. Drain the fuel in the tank and inject the anti-rust agent into the fuel tank.
3.Remove the spark plug and inject a small amount of (15mL 20mL) oil to the cylinder. Reinstall the spark plug.
4. Remove the battery and store it in a well-ventilated, dry and cool area. Keep away from direct sunlight
5. Inflate the tires to the required pressure, and place the motorcycle on the cushion to allow the front and
rear wheels to be off the ground.
6. Place a cover in breathable material on the motorcycle and store the vehicle in a dry, less temperature
difference and ventilated area.
