Installation and operation
4.6
Starting and stopping the
CF-12.4 E-TR motor
4.6.1 Starting the CF-12.4 E-TR motor
WARNING!
On starting the engine the cutting shaft
and the saw blade respectively will rotate
immediately. Observe sections
4.2 and 4.3!
Make sure that during the starting procedure nobody
is in the danger area, especially in front or behind the
cutting direction/saw blade.
ATTENTION!
In order to start the engine safely, raise
the mounted diamond saw blade by
means of the hand crank out of the material to be
cut or out of the cut respectively.
Ear protectors must be worn!
ATTENTION!
Mount the electric connections according
to the rules!
Works on electric connections and electric motors may
only be carried out by electric specialists or trained
persons supervised by an electric specialist, according
to the electro-technical rules. The valid local rules and
regulations have to be observed.
For operations on job sites the connection has to be
effected to a supply point as per DIN VDE 0100.
Observe the corresponding safety rules for the opera-
tion of electric plants, e.g. BGV A2 of BGFE.
The electric motor is started by means of the delta-wye
reverse switch at the motor’s control box, right hand in
travel direction (fig. 4.13).
WARNING!
Danger due to electric short-circuit!
Before connecting the machine to the power
supply turn the delta-wye reverse switch to 0 (centre
position) and press the emergency stop switch (fig.
4.13).
• Connect the electric motor to the mains supply (fig.
4.13), (technical data as per section 1.0).

NOTE
Observe possible loss of output due to the length
of the power supply cable.
• Observe the cross section of the cables in relation to
the lengths of the supply cables:
up to 20 m
→
5 x 4 mm²
up to 50 m
→
5 x 6 mm²
up to 100 m
→
5 x 10 mm²
ATTENTION!
Never use a cable drum with a coiled
cable.
You should prefer short cables to reduce the loss of
output.
• Turn the delta-wye reverse switch (fig 4.13 and 4.14)
back to the left,
Y
.
Motor and saw blade start rotating (counter-clockwise
to the left)!
ATTENTION!
Make sure that no danger might occur
from the rotating saw blade.
