Problems when starting (engine)
Problem
Possible cause
Remedy
Machine on starting
without function
Connecting power cable not
properly tightened
Connecting cable defective
Delta-wye reverse switch defec-
tive
Loosened electric connection in
the electric system
Drive motor defective
Cutting shaft blocked (cutting
shaft with saw blade not lifted
out of the cut)
Check and provide proper connection to the mains
supply
Check connecting cable, replace it if necessary
Have the switch checked by an electric specialist and,
if necessary, replace it
Have the complete electrical system checked by an
electric specialist
Have the drive motor checked by an electric specialist
and, if necessary, replace it
Check and provide sufficient clearance of cutting shaft
Lift cutting shaft (saw blade) out of the cut
Motor without power
output
Connecting cable too long,
cable drum coiled
Insufficient output of local mains
supply
Delta-wye reverse switch not
“started through”, is in Y-mode
Dive motor does not keep its
speed
Stick to max. cable length, uncoil cable drum
Stick to prescribed connecting data of machine
Start through the delta-wye reverse switch to
∆
Have the drive motor checked by an electric specialist
and, if necessary, replace it
No output during
cutting, motor shuts
down
V-belts are slipping, are
defective
Too high cutting pressure (motor
overheated)
Incorrect saw blade specification
Motor overload switch defective
Damage in electrical system
Tension, replace V-belts
Reduce feed (if necessary cutting depth) and have the
motor cooled down with freely rotating saw blade
Use correct saw blade suitable to the material to be
cut
Have the switch checked by an electric specialist and,
if necessary, replace it
Have the electrical system checked by an electrical
specialist
