Maintenance and care
When carrying out maintenance and care work, the
“Basic safety instructions” in chapter 2 of this operating
manual are to be observed, as well as the operating
manual of the engine manufacturer
!
• The machine has to be cleaned prior to each mainte-
nance.
• Maintenance as indicated in section 5.4 has to be
carried out according to the prescribed intervals.
Also wear parts that are not subject to maintenance
intervals have to be controlled and, if necessary, to
be replaced or to be adjusted.
Keep to the maintenance and inspection intervals
and, if possible, let the work be carried out by a
qualified work shop or by
CEDIMA

, so lengthening
the working life of the CF-12.4 E-TR!
WARNING!
Danger of injury! The joint cutter CF-12.4 E-
TR has to be shut down for any cleaning,
maintenance and repair work! Shut off the motor!
Disconnect the joint cutter from the power supply by
pulling the power supply plug. Secure the joint cutter
against unintentional starting or rolling away!
5.1
Cleaning
Cleaning agents
– Do not use any aggressive cleaning
agents (solvents or similar).
• High pressure cleaner and aggressive cleaning
agents as well as cleaning with liquids exceeding a
temperature of 30° C are not allowed.
– Use lint-free cleaning cloths.
5.2
How to clean
Dry cleaning
– Remove dust and dirt with a slightly dampened cloth.
– Remove strong residues with a brush (that is not too
hard).
Wet cleaning
ATTENTION!
Do not use any high pressure or steam
cleaners!
For safety and functional reasons no water/cleaning
agents/steam might penetrate into the electric motor,
the switch box, the delta-wye reverse switch, plug etc.!
– Therefore, cover or seal all openings, casings, plug
connectors etc. which are at risk!
– Remove dirt and residues with a “gentle” stream of
water and a brush.
– Take especial care at critical places such as switch-
es, engine, air filter.
The electric motor as well as all electrical components
must not be hit by water jets.
– Do not “flush out” bearings to avoid the risk of dry
running. The machine’s roller bearings are lubricated
for life.
– After cleaning, covers or sealing materials are to be
removed completely!
Greasing, corrosion protection
– After cleaning provide al metallic sliding parts with a
thin fat film (rust protection) and/or corrosion protec-
tion oil. All remaining metallic bearings and mobile
mechanical elements should never run dry, but
slightly be greased (standard multi-purpose grease
and machine oil).
Excessive oiling and greasing promotes further
wear due to adhering dust and cutting slurry.
– Check all connections and connecting elements and
tighten all screwed fastenings that might have been
loosened.
5.3
Maintenance and care of the motor
NOTE
The electric motor does not need any special
maintenance and care. Stick to the safety and
functional checks!
ATTENTION!
Stick precisely to the maintenance and
inspection intervals (refer to section 5.4)
and let the works preferably be done by a special-
ized workshop or by

.
Thus you extend the life time of your joint cutter.
Keep the safety and warning plates fitted to the
machine always clean so that they are still legible
after a longer period.
