Configuring Device-level Parameters

Negotiated
mode. 10GBASE-T is also auto-negotiated per standards.
Auto Negotiated is the IEEE and Consortium Auto Negotiation mode
for 25G and above DAC link speeds.
Auto Negotiated
mode is for
DAC cables only; it does not work on optics (discrete modules or active
optical cables).
10 Gbps
sets the port link speed at 10Gbps (25Gb and 40Gb adapters
only). FEC is not supported.
25 Gbps
sets the port link speed at 25Gbps (25Gb adapter only).
Reed-Solomon FEC (RS-FEC) is not supported.
40 Gbps
sets the port link speed at 40Gbps (40Gb adapters only).
FEC is optional.
100 Gbps
sets the port link speed at 100Gbps (100Gb adapter only).
FEC is required for a standard connection, but can be turned off.
4.
Use the
FEC Mode
to select forward error correction (FEC) options that are
available when the
Link Speed
(see
) is set explicitly to
10 Gbps
or
25 Gbps
on 25Gb adapters,
10 Gbps
or
40 Gbps
on 40Gb adapters, or
100 Gbps
on 100Gb adapters.
None
disables FEC.
Auto
sets the FEC mode to automatic. This setting allows the adapter
to try the different (applicable for that speed) FEC modes—while in a
fixed speed mode (that is, not SmartAN or Auto Negotiated modes)—
until a link is established.
Fire Code
enables FEC (BASE-R-FEC) on 10Gb, 25Gb, and 40Gb
adapters
Reed Solomon
enables Reed Solomon FEC on 100Gb adapters. This
setting is required for optical connections.
5.
Use the
SR-IOV
parameter to enable (
Enabled
) or disable (
Disabled
)
SR-IOV. This option is not available on 100Gb adapters.
6.
Use the
MFW Crash Dump Feature
to enable (
Enabled
) or disable
(
Disabled
) the collecting of adapter-specific running state information when
specific system crashes occur.
7.
Set the
BAR-2 Size
to the preferred base address register (BAR) number 2
size.
8.
Use the
UEFI Driver Debug Level
to set the UEFI runtime debug messages
that are saved to the qdbg log file, similar to the Linux dmesg logs. Possible
values are 0 to 0xFFFFFFFFF.
