Loading PC Card and Expansion Memory
Using a PC Card
FIVA has one “PC Card Standard PCMCIA TYPE II” PC card slot. The
following describes the types of PC card that can be used.
•
LAN card
This type of card makes it possible to interconnect multiple
computers and exchange data using Ethernet.

Other SS wireless cards
Important
•
Long term use of PC card that generates a lot of heat can cause
unstable card operation and malfunction.
•
Never install or remove a PC card while an application is running.
•
Never install or remove a PC card while system operation is
suspended or in
Hibernation
Mode. Doing so can cause data to be
deleted.
N o t e
You can use the “Product Recovery CD-ROM” that comes bundled
with FIVA to restore the hard disk. Use the optional CASIO MPC-
142CDDE CD-ROM drive to access the CD-ROM.
A PC card must be oriented correctly when you insert it into the slot.
Forcing a card into the slot upside-down can damage its connectors.
Always make sure the card oriented correctly when inserting it into
the slot.

Make sure you insert the PC card into the slot as far as it will go. An
incorrectly inserted card can result in incorrect installation of the
card’s driver and malfunction.
