4.5 Cable runs
The Merlin LT system employs a simple cable arrangement: see section 3.2. As with any marine cable run, good
practice is needed to ensure a successful installation.
Ensure all cables are securely connected to the back of the Merlin LT. All connectors are unique so cannot be
plugged into the wrong socket.
Ensure that all cables are secured in a safe manner along their entire length. Use cable ties or cable clips to keep
them from obstructing walkways, doorways and emergency access points.
All cable runs should be protected as much as possible. The cables should be adequately secured and supported
to ensure there is no free movement or damage to the cables.
Where there is enough cable, service loops should be left at both ends of each cable to allow for future work and/or
relocation.
