Troubleshooting

Are the WFT-E1 and the wireless LAN access point set to have the same
encryption method?

Available encryption methods for the WFT-E1 are [

WEP

] and [

TKIP

]. (p.121

Advanced settings

])

If you are filtering by MAC address, did you register the WFT-E1’s MAC
address in the wireless LAN access point?

MAC Address

Are there any obstacles blocking the path between the WFT-E1 and the
antenna of the wireless LAN access point (or the wireless LAN terminal)?

Move the WFT-E1 and the antenna of the wireless LAN access point (or the
wireless LAN terminal) so there is a clear path between them.

Use the ERA-E1 Extended Range Antenna for the WFT-E1 (sold separately).

After a wireless LAN connection is cut off between the WFT-E1 and the wireless
LAN access point (or the wireless LAN terminal) for some reason, they are not
able to connect again.

(Accesses from other terminals may be concentrated on the wireless LAN access
point, a microwave oven may be in use nearby, or the weather is poor.)

Turn off the camera’s power and the WFT-E1’s power, and then turn them on again.

WFT-E1

Is the WFT-E1’s antenna loose?

Make sure that the WFT-E1’s antenna connection is secure.

Is the LAN cable securely connected?

Reconnect the LAN cable between the WFT-E1 and the server. The cable may also
be broken, so try connecting using a different cable.

In regard to LAN cables, are you correctly using a straight cable or a cross
cable?

To connect the WFT-E1 and the server directly, use a cross cable. To connect them
via a hub or a router, use a straight cable.

Is the hub or the router’s power on?

Turn the hub or the router’s power on.

Is the server’s power on?

Turn the server’s power on. The power may be turned off in energy saving mode.
