Setting the Receive Mode

You can change the setting of the receive mode whenever necessary. The
machine must be in the Standby mode.

Press [Receive Mode] until the mode you want appears.

You can select from the following:

<FaxTel>*:
If a telephone is connected to the machine, the machine automatically switches
between fax calls and voice calls.

<FaxOnly>:
The machine receives only faxes.

<DRPD>*:
Distinguishes between fax and voice calls using Distinctive Ring Patterns.

<Manual>:
If a telephone is connected to the machine, you can receive faxes by pressing
[Start] before replacing the handset on the telephone.

<AnsMode>:
Receives faxes automatically and routes voice calls to an answering machine.

* You can set details for the FaxTel and DRPD modes. (See “FaxTel Mode

Options,” on p. 4-4 or “Distinctive Ring Pattern Detection Feature (DRPD)
Options,” on p. 4-8.)
