What Happens When the FaxTel Mode Is Selected?

Telephone

Fax

The machine answers without ringing.

The machine listens for the fax tone.

(8 seconds)

The fax tone

is detected.

The fax tone is not detected.

The document is

received automatically.

The machine starts ringing.

Pick up the

handset to talk.

If you do not pick up the handset

(within 15 sec.).

<F/T SWITCH ACTION>

Choose between:

<RECEIVE> (Factory default setting)

and <DISCONNECT>.

<DISCONNECT>

<RECEIVE>

(The machine receives the fax)

The fax tone is
detected and the
machine switches to
the receive mode.

The machine
disconnects the call.

Not all fax machines are capable of sending a
fax tone. In this case, set <F/T SWITCH
ACTION> to <RECEIVE>. The machine switches
to the receive mode automatically and starts
receiving the document. If no document comes
in, it disconnects the call after approximately 40
seconds.
