Computer

Various types of image processing can be

executed in the personal computer, in addition to
the processing executed in this machine.

•

Advanced text enhancement

•

Skew correction (deskew)

•

Reverse image (invert image)

•

Text orientation recognition

•

Erase dots

•

Erase notches

•

Border removal

•

Size detection, etc.

The main types of image processing are

described below. For others, refer to the driver
software "Help".

1) Advanced

text

enhancement

In this mode, a histogram of brightness level

for each block within the scanned data is
calculated, and an optimum slice level is
determined to binarize the pixels.

Binarizing in this way removes the

background, for example, from behind text
printed on a background.

For example, as shown in the image in Fig.

2-517, a histogram for each block is calculated,
and the optimum slice level is determined to
binarize the pixels.
