3-2-8 Prevention of ink soiling
Be careful when handling the FINE Cartridge nozzle, head cap, head wiper and waste inkpad.
Residual Ink may soil the main unit, working surfaces, your hands and clothes, etc.
If the ink should accidentally get into someone's eyes, rinse the affected eye with plenty of clean
water and seek medical attention.
If a large quantity of ink is accidentally swallowed, seek medical advice immediately.
In such a case, let the doctor know exactly what is written on the FINE Cartridge label.
3-2-9 Conductivity of the ink
The ink used in the FINE Cartridge is conductive. This means that, if the ink leaks, mechanical
parts should be wiped with a dampened paper towel or similar and electrical circuits wiped with
tissue paper so that all ink is removed from below the IC chips.
If power is switched on while ink is leaking on the electrical circuits, the circuitry may short out
and be damaged. If ink is leaking, the power must be switched off.
3-3 Product Transportation
Please follow procedures below when to transport repaired products.
1. Start the MFP service mode. (Refer to Part1: 5-6 Selective Function in MFP Service Mode )
2. Open the operation panel. Remove the FINE Cartridge.
3. Set to the soft-power-ON.
3-4 Precautions for Hard-Power ON/OFF Mode
3-4-1 Hard-Power On/Off
The “ hard-power-on ” means the condition that AC adapter is plugged from the main unit.
The
“
hard-power-off
”
means the condition that AC adapter is unplugged from the main unit.
3-4-2 Conditions for Entering in Hard-Power-OFF Mode
Unplug the Power Code. The hard-power-OFF mode starts.
- The carriage may move rightward and leftward if the machine is transported
without removing the FINE cartridge. It adds stress on the carriage.
- Never reuse the FINE cartridge. Package new cartridge when returning the machine
to the customer. Ink may become fixed, or the ink level detection function may not
activate.
