6-9 Assembly/Disassembly of Carriage Unit
6-9-1 Disassembly of Carriage Unit
1. Remove the timing slit film (2) from the timing lit film spring (1). Remove the timing slit
film from the chassis unit. Never touch the slit pattern of the timing slit film. Never adhere
grease to the timing slit film. Never reuse the grease-adhered timing slit film. Replace the
grease-adhered timing slit film with new one.
2. Push the idler pulley rightward once. Remove the carriage belt from the idler pulley.
Remove the idler pulley.
Never touch the slit pattern of the timing slit film. Never adhere grease to the timing
slit film. Never reuse the grease-adhered timing slit film. Replace the grease-
adhered timing slit film with new one.
Never loosen the carriage unit red screw [ TP(Hexagon Head:RED)
M3 × 8] except for Part 1: 4-5-2 Main chassis and carriage rail adjustment .
Refer to Part 1: 4-5-2 Main chassis and carriage rail adjustment when replacing the
carriage unit.
