GETTING STARTED

Connect the Hex to the power supply, the power LED will turn on, wait about 25 seconds until you hear a beep, a 
message appears on the screen:

Wait 15 seconds again until the screen will inform you that the reader is ready to work with the 

easy2read 

profile:

In your PC, go to 

Control Panel 

→

 Hardware and Sound

 

→ Devices and Printers. 

After having installed the driver (if 

your  PC  is  running  a  Windows  version  older  than  Windows  10,  otherwise  the  installation  of  the  driver  is  not 
necessary),  the  reader  is  detected  by  the  PC  as  an 

ELMO  GMAS

  (Gadget  Serial)  device.  Look  at  the  COM  port 

number (COM5 in this example):

Easy Controller software

 from the 

Hex R1290I web page

and install it.
