To secure a child restraint
designed for this system, use the
following procedure:
1. If the child restraint is
equipped with a top strap,
attach the top strap to the top
strap anchor as follows:
- In order to access the top
strap anchor, you must first
fold the seat. See "Folding
the Seat" under "Split Folding
Rear Seatback" earlier in this
section.
- Then, place the child
restraint in the vehicle, near
the folded seat.
- Route the top strap accord-
ing to the child restraint
instructions and according to
the instructions listed under
"Top Strap" earlier in this
section.
- Attach the top strap to the
top strap anchor.
CAUTION
Each top strap anchor or set of
attaching points is designed to
hold only one child restraint.
Attaching more than one child
restraint to a single anchor or
attaching point could cause the
anchor or attaching point to
come loose or even break
during a collision. A child or
others may be injured. To
prevent injury to people and
damage to the vehicle, attach
only one child restraint per
anchor or attaching point.
