MONITORING AND TROUBLESHOOTING
5-6
STBY (Standby)
The STBY LED indicates the state of the bridge Station port:
Solid Yellow
The bridge has placed the Station port in an
inactive state, not bridging data.
Off
The Station port is bridging data, the normal
condition.
The STBY condition is caused, typically, by the Spanning Tree Algorithm
(STA) when it designates another bridge port interfacing with the same
ring that the Station port is interfacing with as the active ring port.
LNK (Link)
The LNK LED on the face of the TPIM indicates the status of the TPIM
connection:
Solid Green
The port detects phantom current.
Solid Red
(TPIM-T1/T2/T4 only)
The port does not detect phantom current.
Off
(TPIM-F2/F3 only)
The port does not detect signal traffic.
5.2 MONITORING THE INITIALIZATION PROCESS
You can use the following TRBMIM-T resources to monitor the
initialization, or power up, process:
•
Power Up Diagnostic screen
•
LED cycle
The Power Up Diagnostic screen displays TRBMIM-T diagnostic
activities occurring during the power up process that you can view from
your management terminal. You can also monitor the power up process by
viewing the LED cycle that occurs during power up. This is especially
convenient you when you do not have a management terminal connected
to the TRBMIM-T to view the Power Up Diagnostic screen.
5.2.1 Monitoring With The Power Up Diagnostic Screen
The Power Up Diagnostic screen displays information about initialization
tests in progress and any error messages they may produce.
