CHAPTER 5
MONITORING AND TROUBLESHOOTING
This chapter describes LANVIEW LED functions and color codes and
how to use LEDs to monitor and troubleshoot the operational status of the
TRBMIM-T. It also describes how to monitor the system start-up, or
initialization, process using the Power Up Diagnostic screen. The chapter
concludes with a troubleshooting checklist.
5.1 DESCRIBING LEDS
The LANVIEW LED system for the TRBMIM-T comprises three sets of
LEDs. Each set conveys information about the operating status of a
particular TRBMIM-T functional entity:
•
The operating system and system-hardware components
•
The Station port (including the TPIM LNK LED)
•
The FNB ring
LED functional states are described as follows:
Off
Indicates either that the TRBMIM-T is not
activated when all LEDs are off, or a particular
condition indicated by an LED when the
TRBMIM-T is activated; for example, "the
LED is off under normal operating
conditions . . . ."
Blinking
Emits a color synchronously; for example, "the
LED blinks green to indicate . . . ."
Flashing
Emits a color asynchronously; for example,
"the LED flashes red to indicate . . . ."
Solid
Emits a solid, non-blinking, non-flashing color;
for example, "the LED is solid yellow to
indicate . . . ."
