3. Attach the other end of the fiber strand connected to the
TPIM-F2/-F3’s Rx port to the other device’s Tx port. Attach the other
end of the strand connected to the TPIM-F2/-F3’s Tx port to the other
device’s Rx port.
The LNK LED on the TPIM-F2/F3 lights:
• Green if the Station port detects signal traffic between the
TRBMIM-T and the other Token Ring device.
• Does not light if the Station port does not detect signal traffic.
If the LNK LED on the TPIM-F2/F3 does not light green, perform the
following steps to resolve the problem:
1. Check that the device at the other end of the connection has power and
that the lobe port to which the TRBMIM-T is connected is enabled.
2. Verify that the fiber strands are properly “crossed-over” between the
ports on the TRBMIM-T and on the fiber optic device at the other end
of the connection.
If a link cannot be established, contact Cabletron Systems Technical
Support.
