Use the TPIM-T2 to connect a UTP cable segment with an RJ45
connector as shown in Figure 4-6.

Checking the connection
The LNK LED on the TPIM-T1/T2/T4 lights:
• Green if the Station port detects phantom current asserted to the
connecting port.
• Red if the Station port is not inserted into the ring.
If the LNK LED on the TPIM-T1/T2/T4 lights red or does not light,
perform the following steps to resolve the problem:
1. Check that the device at the other end of the connection has power and
that the lobe port to which the TRBMIM-T is connected is enabled.
2. Verify that the connectors are pinned properly.
3. Ensure that ring speeds match at both ends of the connection.
If a link still cannot be established, contact Cabletron Systems Technical
Support.
