3.10 PORT MIRRORING
The mirror command has two forms. One will allow the user to mirror all
inbound and outbound trafÞc from one port to another. The second will
allow all packets with speciÞc destination MAC addresses to be mirrored
to a particular port. Up to four destination MAC addresses may be
mirrored simultaneously.
mirror [port {add | del[ete]} SRC-PORT DEST-PORT]

By entering the command alone the present mirror selections will be
displayed.

3.11 DEFINING AND DELETING WORKGROUPS
The SmartSTACK Ethernet ELS10-27 allows you to deÞne logical groups
of associated ports (virtual workgroups) to provide a more efÞcient ßow
of trafÞc across your Ethernet network.
Virtual workgroups offer you the ability to limit broadcasts and unicasts
to logical domains within the network. Workgroup destinations are
recognized by the SmartSTACK Ethernet ELS10-27 and packets are
routed directly to ports within the workgroup, eliminating the need to
perform a general broadcast across each segment of the network to Þnd
speciÞc host addresses.
Figure 3-2 shows an SmartSTACK Ethernet ELS10-27 that has been
programmed to identify workgroups A and B. Workgroup A uses ports 3
through 5,13 and 16 and workgroup B uses ports 7, 11, 16 and 24. Port 16
connects a segment that contains both workgroup A and workgroup B
hosts.
