Enter a unique, 40 bit ATM address.

Use the arrow keys to highlight the TOGGLE PERSISTENCE command at the bottom
of the screen.
16.
Press ENTER to toggle between the options until the desired setting displays in the ATOM
Persistence is: field.
17.
Use the arrow keys to highlight the CREATE SPVC command at the bottom of the screen.
18.
Press ENTER. If all the values entered in the applicable fields are valid, the source end of
the SPVC is created.

CAUTION
The device that will support the destination end of this SPVC MUST have the same
ATM address assigned as the one entered in the DESTINATION ATM ADDR field.
If the destination device does not have a destination ATM address assigned, or has
a different ATM address assigned, the SPVC will NOT be created.
If the device that will support the destination end of this SPVC is another 9A686-04,
refer to
Section 2.25
for instructions on creating the destination end of the SPVC.

CAUTION
Setting the ATOM persistence to “ON” signifies that in the event that the 9A686-04
module or SmartSwitch 9500 chassis is reset, this SPVC will still exist after boot up.
Setting the ATOM persistence to “OFF” signifies that if the module or chassis is
reset, this SPVC will be lost upon boot up.
