In this mode the PNNI Level field is defaulted to 104. This mode allows the
user to modify the entire 13 byte (104 bits) NSAP prefix of the system. Refer to
Figure 2-17 .

This mode may be used if there is only one 9A686-04 installed in the chassis, or if there are
multiple 9A686-04s and the PNNI Level is set to 104. If the PNNI level is set to a value
besides 104, PNNI routing will see multiple nodes with the same prefix. This will cause PNNI
to calculate paths to nodes that may or may not have the destination user attached to that node.
Only experienced users should configure PNNI manually.
NSAP Prefix
Allows the user to change the NSAP prefix of the SmartSwitch 9500 from the default values
as described in
Section 2.16.1 . Upon saving a new NSAP Prefix, all 9A686-04s installed begin
using the new NSAP Prefix.
PNNI Level
Allows the user to set the PNNI Level that all 9A686-04s installed in the chassis use. Once
this value is changed, all 9A686-04s begin using the new PNNI level. Once the PNNI level
value is changed, it is reflected in the level indicator field of the PNNI Node ID, and the PNNI
peer group ID. The PNNI Level field has an acceptable range of 0 through 104.

CAUTION
Section 2.16.2 through Section 2.16.4 provide instructions on changing settings
that may cause network problems if not configured correctly. Refer to Section 4.3.1
if you are unfamiliar with PNNI, and how it relates to the SmartSwitch 9500 system
before performing any of these functions.
