FUNCTIONAL OVERVIEW
Your spa's control system manages the following :
•
Filtration
Suction generated by the two-speed pump causes spa water to circulate through the filtration cartridges
located in the skimmer.
Filtration may be switched on manually (manual mode), or may be started automatically (auto mode) by
programming a minimum filtration time over a set period.
The controller records the length of time that the two-speed pump runs (manual mode, heating mode),
and compares this value with the programmed minimum filtration time over a set period. If the minimum
filtration time has not been reached, the controller runs the pump until the value is met. This feature is very
useful in situations where little heating is required to keep the water at the desired temperature.
•
Water heating, set points and adjustment
The spa pack features a heating loop: water returned by the two-speed pump passes over heating
elements that raise the temperature of the water until the temperature detected by the sensor in the spa
shell reaches the set point.
The set point is the minimum water temperature: inertia of the heating system can cause this set point to
be over shot slightly (0.25 to 1°C) at the end of a heating cycle. It should be noted that if the set point is
lower than the air temperature around the spa, the water will not be cooled to the set point.
Fine adjustment is possible.
The heating element can only operate when water is circulating (two-speed pump running) slowly (energy
saving measure): this means that heating can take place in both manual and automatic mode.
Heating takes priority over the programmed minimum filtration time, that is to say, if the set point has not
been reached at the end of the mandatory filtration cycle, the two-speed pump will continue to run until
the water attains the temperature set point, the length of time for which filtration runs will be duly recorded.
In spas fitted with a blower and/or massage pump (depends on the model), the SP800 controller assigns
priorities to limit electrical consumption:
