With D.T.E., up to 31 display instruments can be connected to the same bus. Here each device
receives its own address between 00 and 99.
The address 00 applies for every connected device and can be used for commands by the master
unit to which the devices need not respond.
A command which is sent to the address 00 is simultaneously executed by all devices
(broadcast).

To connect different devices via the RS485 interface, a terminating resistor (Rt) with 120 Ω must
be attached to both ends of the data line.
The display instruments already contain this resistor Rt, which is connected internally to the
outputs 3 and 4 of the CN5 connection by means of the jumper J1 on the RS4 card. If several
devices exist on the bus, J1 only remains connected to the last subscriber. The jumpers of all the
other devices are to be removed.
