Cryogen liquids

For the installation and for the operation of the instrument, the following cryogen liquids are re-
quired.

Initial magnet installation:

Fill quantity cryogen liquids

Normal operation:

During normal operation of USR magnets, no cryogen liquids are required.
For the maintenance of the cold head up to

500 l He

can be refilled through the Bruker BioSpin

MRI service.

Compressed air and gas supply

No compressed air or gas supplies are required to operate the MR system without the MRI Cryo-
Probe™.

6.12.1

MRI CryoProbe™

Installation and operation of the MRI CryoProbe™ require compressed air and a helium gas
supply in the technical area that have the following properties:
Requirements of the compressed air connection

▪

Quality of compressed air: cleaned, cold, free of oil and particles

▪

Minimum pressure: 4.5 bar

▪

Connection in the technical room with pressure control and lock valve

▪

Consumption: around 10 l/hour

Requirements of the helium gas supply

▪

Quality of the helium gas supply 6.0 = 99.9999%

▪

Minimum pressure: 22 bar

▪

Maximum pressure: 25 bar

▪

Connection in the technical room

▪

Consumption 50-liter bottle/year, depending on the use of the MRI CryoProbe™
