6 Belt

Cleaning

OPC Belt Cleaning Process means that the residual toner adhering to the OPC belt

surface is mechanically scavenged.

(1) Structure of Belt Cleaning

Blade for the OPC belt cleaning is located to the belt cartridge as shown in Fig.4-

(2) Process of OPC Belt Cleaning (Refer to Fig.4-20.)

i) There is a residual toner on the OPC belt as it has not been transferred in the

process of first transfer.

ii) Residual toner is mechanically scavenged by the blade edge.

iii) The scavenged residual toner is collected in the waste toner pack by the waste

toner feeder.
